Betty Wharton

Betty L. (Lescalleet) Wharton, 76, of Lancaster passed away at the Pickering House on Saturday, September 19, 2015.

Betty devoted her life to helping others. Her generosity, caring spirit, and selflessness touched everyone she met.

Betty is survived by her sons, Jeff Wharton, Jim (Pam) Wharton, and Bill (Lori) Wharton; grandchildren, Ryan (Cindy Kraft) Wharton, Jon Wharton, Katelyn (Ryan) Bieber, and Erin Wharton; great grandchildren, Kyleigh, Cyrus, Paislee, Mason, and Cameron; sisters, Wilma (Orville) Amspaugh, Mary (Vern) Waters, and Shirley (Tom) Marshall; sister-in-law, Dorothy Wharton; and several half brothers, half sisters, nieces, and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wharton; daughter, Rhonda Wharton; her parents; and siblings, Sonny, Bill, Donna, Butch, Helen, and John.

A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster. Caring Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a later date in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FairHoPe Hospice, 282 Sells Rd, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
