Betty Lou (Congrove) Slone, 84, of Baltimore, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014.

Betty was a member of New Zion United Methodist Church in Baltimore. She was a 1948 graduate of Pickerington High School and she worked for 18 years as a missionary and teacher in Papua New Guinea.

Betty is survived by her husband of 37 years, Eugene Slone; sons, Larry E.(Lynn) Slone and Paul E. (Susan) Slone; daughter, Lora J. (Eugene) Owlsey; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers, Jack Congrove, David (Kathy) Congrove, and Wayne (Jo) Congrove; sisters, Joan Weaver, Eldora Green, Linn (Harold) Crutcher, and Becky Magill; sister-in-law, Carol Congrove; and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph C. And Mamie (Hastilow) Congrove; sister, Mary Barrett; and brother, Richard Congrove.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at New Zion United Methodist Church with Pastor Rick Stuhmer officiating. Burial will follow in Union Evangelical Cemetery, Baltimore. Friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Baltimore.
