Betty Sleeth

August 5, 1928 — June 18, 2012

Betty Bennett Sleeth, 83, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012, at Diley Ridge Medical Center.

Betty was an active member of Olivedale Senior Center where she enjoyed the plays and the dominoes group started by Betty and her husband. She enjoyed arranging flowers, especially to compete at the fair, and was a member of several garden clubs. Betty also enjoyed decorating cakes.

Betty is survived by her children, Beverly (Ed) Daubenmire of Centerburg, Gregory (Mary) Sleeth of Lancaster, Marsha Goss of Somerset, Lamira (David) Rogers of Columbus, and Arleen (Michael) Sedita of Florida; grandchildren, Keith, Kristeena, Jena, Zac, Melissa, Alice, Matthew, John, and Kurt; great grandchildren, Austin, Ryan, Lauren, Eric, Jerrod, Alexis, and Kelsy; brother, Randall (Karin) Bennett of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; sisters-in-law, Virginia Grau of New Jersey and Willadeen Pisino of Grafton, West Virginia; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Lester “Les” W. Sleeth; parents, Beatrice and Morton Bennett; step-father, George Browning; grandchildren, Trevor and Victoria; and brothers, Charles Edward and William Bennett.

A memorial service for Betty will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster with Reverend Diana K. Gugel officiating. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home. Caring Cremation has taken place.
