Betty (Schneider) Pearce

Betty (Schneider) Pearce, 84, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2014, at the Pickering House.

Betty was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a graduate of Berne Union High School. Betty was a member of St Matthew Lutheran Church in Sugar Grove, Daughters of the American Revolution, Fairfield County Genealogical Society, Ohio Genealogical Society, and Olivedale Senior Center. She also worked for several years at the Anchor Hocking Glass Co. general offices.

Betty is survived by her husband of 59 years, Thomas C. Pearce; children, Cynthia Gobelman and Thomas (Johanna) Pearce; grandchildren, Leah Wagner and Keely, Jonah, and Katie Pearce; one great grandchild on the way; niece, Kim Harter; and nephews, John Pearce and Daniel Pearce.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Mary Schneider; sisters, Mary Mildred Deeds and Jo Ann Bethel; and brother, Charles W. Schneider.

Funeral service for Betty will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Lancaster with Reverend Dennis Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Rose Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday.
