Betty Lucas

Betty E. Lucas 88 of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Crestview Manor Nursing Home.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Home Study Club, Mumaugh Memorial, Twig # 7, Alter Guild, Laura Rice Circle and founding member of the Junior Women’s Club.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Sue Lucas (Jeff) Evans of Orlando, FL and Cindy (Skip) Smith of Lancaster, Ohio; five grandchildren, Shawn (Kathy) Evans of Jeffersonton, VA, Heather (Garrett) McCreery of Orlando, FL, Stacey (Scott) Carpenter of Lancaster, OH, Jancie (Taman) Ivory of Hilliard, OH and Stephanie (Ben) Pruitt of Lancaster, OH; eleven great-grandchildren, Emily, Carter Evans, Hollie, Samuel and Matthew McCreery, Rachel, Tyler and Dylan Carpenter, Alexis Ivory and Adrienne and Ellie Pruitt; several nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, Barbara Snyder and brother-in-law, Larry Lucas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Lucas, son, David L. Lucas and parents, Stewart and Florence Lloyd.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Brian Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, Ohio. Friends may visit Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130 and 1 hour to the service at the church on Saturday.
