Betty J. Boris

Betty J. Boris, 89, of Lancaster, Ohio passed away at Arbors of Carroll on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. She was born to the late Dale and Helen (Murphy) Shahan on January 7, 1935.

Betty was married to her husband, Richard, for 61 years before his passing in 2015. Her favorite activities included doing crossword puzzles, spending time with family, and shopping. She enjoyed reading, especially anything related to health and nutrition. Betty was also an avid collector of Country Collectable bunnies. 

Betty is survived by her children, Brad (Vanessa) Boris, Kim (Kenny) Niggemeyer, and Brenda Stanley; grandchildren, Nick (Stephanie) Niggemeyer, Dana Stanley, Joe Stanley, Zach Stanley, and Brian Boris; great-grandchildren, Levi, Tony, and Avi; sisters, Carol and Debbie as well as a special friend and caregiver, Lora Barrett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Helen; husband, Richard L. Boris; grandchild, Melissa Niggemeyer and son-in-law, Dave Stanley. 

A funeral service will be held Monday, July 29, 2024, at noon at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 am to the time of the service. Burial will follow the service at Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
