Bernice Coleman

Bernice Florence Coleman, 87, left this world December 26, 2017, peacefully to her eternal rest. She was born on September 27, 1930 in Shoal Harbor, Newfoundland to Charles and Florence Mills. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas; sons, Thomas and Charles; and granddaughter, Ariel Pond. She is survived by her sons, Michael Coleman and Steve (Nancy) Coleman. She leaves behind wonderful memories with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bernice’s life was filled with family and friends, her gardens, and bowling league. Her beloved animals kept her company throughout her life. She was a cherished presence as head cook in the kitchen of Geneva Hills for twenty years, bringing people together, both at home and at work.

A memorial service will take place Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. in the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. Friends and family may visit from 5:00 P.M. until the time of service on Tuesday. A private family burial will take place at Amanda Township Cemetery at a later date.
