Barbara Bitler

Barbara Jane Bitler, 78, of Baltimore, passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, November 27, 2016.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of The Grove Community Christian Church in Baltimore. She was also a member of the Cross Country Club. She previously worked at Snead’s and Roots Restaurants in Lancaster and for Bloom Carroll Schools.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Jack Bitler; children, Gary (Susie) Bitler, Cathy (Vince) Keeney, Robert (April) Bitler, Amie (David) Rowland, Jeff (Elizabeth) Bitler, and Bonnie (Chad) Sims; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; siblings, Larry Helber and Kay (Jerry) Miller; and special friends, Jean Powers, Roger and Lisha Baker, Jean and Bob Poling, and her Thimmes Fish Shack friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Ruth Helber; aunt and uncle, Bonnie and Ray Ruff; and cousin, Carolyn Williams.

Funeral service for Barbara will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at The Grove Community Christian Church, 3420 Blacklick Eastern Rd NW, Baltimore, Ohio 43105. Burial will follow in Union Evangelical Cemetery, Baltimore. Friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Friday at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Baltimore and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

Donations may be made in memory of Barbara to The Grove Community Christian Church.
