Avonell Bowers

Avonell A. Bowers, age 91, of Baltimore, passed away Friday, January 7, 2011 at Fairfirld Medical Center.

She was a member of New Zion United Methodist Church, Baltimore where she was the former secretary, treasure, Sunday School teacher, helped with Bible School and was a member of the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by sons, Donald (Carol) Bowers Jr., of Baltimore, Keith (Sharon) Bowers of Carroll; daughter, Pam (Reverend Tom) Sager of New Bremen Ohio; grandchildren, Kim, Tony, Tracy, Sherry, Kris, Craig, Barbara; 12 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Bowers; parents, Clem and Blanche Tobin; eight brothers and sisters; grandson, Christopher.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2011 at the New Zion United Methodist Church, 10991 Snyder Church Rd., Baltimore Ohio 43105, with Reverend Nancy Draves officiating. Burial will follow at the Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call 5 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME,207 S. Main St., Baltimore, Ohio 43105 and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be given to New Zion United Methodist Church in her name.
