Aurora Eldra

Aurora Lyn Eldra, age 66 of Pickerington, Ohio, passed peacefully on January 13, 2018. Aurora was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her three devoted daughters Kathleen (Steve) Thaler, Sharleen (George) Karns, Jennifer (Kevin) Jones, and her treasured grandchildren Erin, Brendan, Eric, Megan, Claudia and Abigail. Born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Robert and Loraine Garee, she is survived by her siblings, Richard Garee, Robert Garee, Suzzane Rachlin, Kathleen Hedrick, William Garee, Jacquelyn Dickerson, Jeannette Lotzer, Jeannine McDaniel, and Mary Francis Garee.

‘Lyn’, as she was known to by family and friends, was an eclectic, larger than life woman. She cherished her family more than anything and took great pride in her children and grandchildren. As a woman of many talents and interests, she throughout her life, took risks and forged her own path. Over her professional life, she was a real estate agent, mortgage broker, business owner, and entrepreneur. She had an incredible passion for justice and fairness and was a proud feminist majoring in Women’s Studies at The Ohio State University. Her life was filled with pursuing interests that brought her joy. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, garden, enjoyed ornithology, interior design, and was passionate about politics. Her laugh was infectious, and she had a very witty sense of humor. Aurora had an incredible impact on people who knew her well as well as those who knew her briefly. Although she will be sorely missed, her voice and presence will carry on through the people who had the pleasure and honor of knowing her throughout her life.
