Art J. Bevinger, age 69, of Lancaster died at his residence on January 23rd, 2019. He was born to the late Arthur and Mary Elizabeth Yonk Bevinger in Lancaster on May 16, 1949. He served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He was a Lt. on the Lancaster Fire Department and retired after 25 years, a member of the American Legion post #11, he volunteered with the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and he was an Eagle Scout. Art was a devoted Browns fan and loved spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him in the community.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Donna Bee Bevinger; daughters, Mollie (Jarret) Rathburn, Mary Bevinger, Marty (Carl) Locke, and Marcee (Dustin) Roberts; grandchildren, Orion and Connor Bevinger, Ajay and Allie Locke, and Emilee and Evelyn Roberts; siblings, Kay (Ray) Lewis; brother-in-law, John Robinette, several nieces and nephews.
Art was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ruthann Bevinger Robinette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, at 10:30AM at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, officiated by Father Craig R. Eilerman. The Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail will have a committal service at St. Mary’s Cemetery following Mass. Visitation will take place at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2PM until 4PM and 6PM until 8PM. Memorials in Art’s name can be made to either, FairHope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd.
