Anna Eve Montgomery of Lancaster, Ohio, born October 8, 1916, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2012.
Anna was born in Cumbola, PA, daughter of the late John and Catherine (Sasala) Butchko.
She worked as a seamstress for Miss Pennsylvania Garment factory, Pottsville, PA, before getting married and becoming a dedicated full time homemaker. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, Lancaster, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Hugh J. Montgomery who was introduced to her by her sister, Sue in the kitchen of her childhood home where she fell in love with the handsome World War II soldier. She was also preceded in death by her son, James, sisters, Susan Marzin and Catherine Tokanets, brothers-in-law, John and George Montgomery, John Tokanets and Howard Reeser, great niece Shawna Scott and great nephew Gary Tokanets, Jr.
Anna is survived by her daughters, Marie Beavers and Kathryn Montgomery; grandson, Hugh (Tracy) Montgomery; granddaughter, Ann (Shannon) Hattery, great children, Aiden and Evan Montgomery, Kathryn and Brooke Hattery; brother-in-law, David (Martha) Montgomery; sisters-in-law, Wilma Reeser and Lucille Montgomery; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, January 16, 2012 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Lancaster, Ohio at 10:30 a.m. with Father Peter Gideon as celebrant. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Circleville, Ohio. Friends may visit Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N. COLUMBUS ST., LANCASTER, OHIO 43130. A wake service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
