LANCASTER: Ann Bradford Chess, 68, of Lancaster, Ohio, died Monday December 7, 2015 at Lanfair Center, Lancaster, Ohio.
She was born August 9, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Walter Kerfoot and Marcia Houlton Chess, and was one of five children. She graduated from Wittenberg University in 1969. Ann was a career elementary music teacher in the Lancaster City Schools. Miss Chess delighted in sharing the joy of music with children.
As a supporter of the arts, she was especially dedicated to the Lancaster Festival. From the Festival's beginnings Ann was a tireless volunteer serving as administrator to the Festival Orchestra. She served as a board member for the Lancaster YMCA and City Music Columbus.
Ann was preceded in death by a brother, William. She leaves siblings: Walter (Bud) Chess, Robert Chess, and Nancy Chess Felde (Luke); nieces Sarah Veldman (Greg) and Margaret Felde.
