Amy Thrush

Amy Jo Thrush, 41, of Lancaster, passed away on May 13, 2015 at the Fairfield Medical Center. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Amy’s greatest joys in life were spending time with her family and shopping. Her laughter and love for family and life was contagious. She could light up a room and make everyone smile with her quick wit and orneriness. Amy was a surrogate mom to so many, a shoulder to cry on, and confidant, no matter the situation. Amy took pride in all of her family’s accomplishments and stood proudly beside her husband as he coached. Together they touched the lives of so many of the youth of this community.

Amy is survived by her husband of 21 years, Jerry Thrush; children, April Thrush, Ethan (Ashley) Thrush, Brandon England, Jeremy Thrush, and Jevin Thrush; grandchildren, Layton, Madison, Arissa, Aaliyah, Ashton, Bentley, Christian, Peyton, and Eli; mother, Joann Kern; brothers, Mike (Nancy) Kern and Dan (Barb) Kern; sister, Pam (Greg) Cook; niece/sister, Shana (Kurt) Woolum; nephew, Jon Kern; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Judy Thrush; sisters-in-law, Robin (Bob) Hutchinson and Angel (Randy) LeuVoy; and several other nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Kern and grandson, Carter Jaxson.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 5 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Church of Lancaster located at 700 Spring Street in Lancaster with pastor Ed Sharp officiating. Friends and family may visit from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the church on Saturday. Caring Cremation® will take place with the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home following the service.
