Amelia M. Kempton, 90, of Millersport, passed away at her home on Thursday, July 21, 2016. She was born November 28, 1925, in Lancaster, Ohio.
Amelia was a member of Maple Grove United Brethren Church in Baltimore. She was a 63 year member of the Monticello Rebekah Lodge #885. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Salvation Army Samaritan Center in Lancaster.
Amelia is survived by her sons, John E. (Judy) Kempton, Jr., Gary (Cathy) Kempton, and Glen Bevis; daughter, Gloria Asbell; grandchildren, Jeff (Angela) Kempton, James (Jennifer) Kempton, Heath (Lindsey) Kempton, Matthew (Ashley) Kempton, Jennifer Bevis, John Bevis, and Don Asbell, Jr.; 9 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Esther Kempton; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Bonnie Glasspool and Randi Woolard.
Amelia was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John E. Kempton, Sr.; great granddaughter, Addison Kempton; sister, Margaret Dillon; and daughter-in-law, Valerie Bevis.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Baltimore. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster. Friends may visit from 2:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
