Alexandra Sakas, age 89 of Lancaster, passed away March 16th, 2014 at Carriage Court. She was born April 15, 1924, in Kaunus, Lithuania and came to the US in 1947. She proudly became a US Citizen.
Alexandra loved the beautiful things in life. She enjoyed flower gardening, was an avid birdwatcher, and entertained her grandchildren with music. She was a homemaker who took great pride in her home and cooked delicious meals. She was an excellent artist, who painted many beautiful paintings.
Alexandra is survived by her children, Dan (Lora) Sakas of Lancaster, Irene (Ron) DiPaolo of Baltimore; grandchildren living locally, Dennis (Jessica), Matthew, Joseph (Amanda), and Christine DiPaolo, and great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the Staff at Carriage Court Assisted Living and FairHoPe Hospice for their care and support. Memorials can be made in Alexandras name to FairHoPe Hospice 282 Sells Rd. Lancaster, OH 43130 or to a food pantry of your choice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30AM on Wednesday, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Lancaster, officiated by Fr. Craig R. Eilerman. Family and friends may call one hour prior at the Church. Burial will follow the Mass at St. Mary Cemetery.
